Kids these days have no imaginations. I blame video games. back in my day, a big box of LEGOs was just about the best toy possible. it didn't matter if the pieces in the box were meant to assemble a space-ship or pirate island or gas station. They were LEGOs, and thus had the potential to become anything I could dream up.
LEGO doesn't think that kids today are equally creative. They've developed a new augmented reality product, the LEGO Digital Box, to act as an in-store marketing tool. When you hold a toy box up to the Digital Box, it will display a 3D representation of what your product will look like when assembled. that way customers get to see exactly how much fun there is inside!
The Digital Box will be heading to all LEGO retail stores worldwide. Testing started back in November of 2008, and the box has apparently proven itself enough for LEGO.
